Palestine and Syria

120, 444 pages17 maps, 44 plans
 With a panorama of Jerusalem.

This is the edition that caused the famous case of Howard v. Dulau & Co (Baedeker's publishers in London) in the High Court in London, after Mr. Howard's hotel was described as second class, and he himself as an Arab. Howard won the case but in the third edition, there was no mention at all of his hotels (one in Jaffa, one in Jerusalem).
